Congregational lunch – Next Sunday, 3rd, we will enjoy lunch together after the morning service. Anyone is most welcome to this. There are sign-up sheets at the door. Volunteers are needed to help set up beforehand and to clean up afterwards please. Much appreciated! A reminder that there will be no tea/ coffee after the service next week
Community Groups – The next community groups will take place on the 6th of November. The next community group bible study is Study 7 and is called Deliverance from sin, based on Rom 3: 9-31. The countryside group will meet at Willie and Rona’s and the Town group will meet at Dave and Sally’s.
Fortrose Academy Christian Union – Mrs Amy Mcfarlane will come to our midweek meeting on the 13th of November to speak about the Fortrose Academy Christian Union.
Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal – This November our Youth Fellowship plan to fill shoe boxes for the annual Blythswood shoe box appeal. Each box is filled with small practical items including a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, sweets, toy/gift, scarf, gloves and hat and some underwear. If you are able to help us with donations of gifts or can give financially towards the Blythswood transport costs of the boxes, that would be very helpful. We plan to collect donations over the next few weeks, then the YF will meet on Saturday 2nd November at the church to wrap and pack the boxes. Information leaflets with further details will be available soon.

Community Harvest Thanksgiving Service – Sunday 3rd November 2024, 2pm, Dingwall Free Church. This special service for the farming community will be led by Ferintosh & Resolis Free Church in association with Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd. It would be encouraging to see a large number attending from across the wider community. Further updates to follow.
Rev. Ian Hamilton will be taking our communion services on 23rd & 24th November.
Hope Explored – We will be exploring the subject of HOPE on Thursday evenings on the 21st and 28th of November and the 5th of December at 7. 30 pm in the manse. Speak to Rory or Kirsteen if you have any questions. Come along and invite a friend! A Joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.
Congregational discussion 27th November – The Kirk session would like to hold a congregational discussion on the current health of the church and where the Lord might be leading us in the future.
Quiz Night in aid of Damaris House – Friday 29th November in the church hall – More details to follow.
Blythswood Winter Afternoon Tea – Friday 15th November 1:30-4:00pm, Blythswood Care are hosting their annual Winter Afternoon Tea at Kingsmills Hotel. It promises to be a great afternoon of delicious food and wonderful company. There will also be several craft stalls from an array of local businesses, the perfect opportunity to purchase some Christmas gifts or a little treat for yourself. On top of this we also have an exciting Silent Auction, where you can bid on an assortment of generously donated items, such as a VR Sleigh Ride for six at Simpsons Garden Centre or a Christmas Hamper full of lots of nice little goodies.
Thanks to our generous sponsors Caley Timber, all money raised from the event will go towards supporting our projects and partners across Eastern Europe, Africa, and India. Blythswood Care’s mission is to transform lives through the impact of education, community action and gospel activities.
